The Estate has a varied portfolio of let property which falls into three distinct categories:
The most significant part of the property management portfolio consists of residential property owned by the Estate which is let to private tenants.
The portfolio of properties range from compact one bedroom cottages to substantial four and five bedroom houses set in large grounds.
All properties are let unfurnished on Assured Shorthold Tenancy agreements, and are fully maintained by the Estate’s in-house maintenance team. We expect all tenants to occupy their properties on a full-time basis, we do not let properties for use as holiday or second homes, with the exception of those we advertise specifically for this purpose on our ‘Holiday Cottages’ page.
All prospective tenants are invited to complete a Viewing Request Form, which enables us to ensure that they will be able to satisfactorily meet the criteria outlined in our housing policy document, prior to viewing.
The Estate is happy to accept applications from potential tenants who will require LHA to contribute towards their rent.
Changing agricultural practices have meant that over the years, numerous smaller agricultural holdings have been amalgamated to form larger holdings and now the Estate has relatively few agricultural tenants. It is unusual for Agricultural units to become available for rent, but smaller fields for use as Pony Paddocks are sometimes available.
The Estate has several caravan parks let on long leases, as well as a number of properties in the hospitality and retail sectors, along with some lock-up garages and licensing opportunities for mobile vendors.
